Gnal Family Team gatecrash Kroniz's end of year game

Gnal Family Team (GFT) denied Kroniz the pleasure of a winning end of the year game when the two teams played out a 2-2 draw at MD Soccer Field on Chrismas Day Game Friday afternoon.

However Hadi’s penalty one minutes from time could have clinched a well deserved win for kroniz but a weak kicked was easily saved by GFT keeper when the score was tied 2-2.

Kroniz needed goals from Asri and Aliuddin to restore parity against an inspired GFT side, and had seemed set to complete the Houdini escape when their striker scored with four minutes on the clock.

Even when GFT was leading, Kroniz’s boys were clearly stunned by the early goal, and they sought to get back on level terms as soon as possible.

But Asri was pull just outside the box instantly handed kroniz a chance to draw level, and they promptly did so when Asri beautiful freekick ended on the top corner to the delight of kroniz players.

At the heart of the action was Aliuddin with another free kick he became the hero when his free kick on 13 minutes was spectacularly dipping under goalpost and with that leading 2-1.

On 25 minutes, the GFT finally seized the advantage, a lobbing free kick on the right for GFT striker to nod down at the far post to make it 2-2. It did not helped by the unclear sight of extra kilos on Kroniz players frame – to render the Kroniz backline vulnerable though, and GFT players made the most of the situation to pull level.

Apart from those moments, though, GFT rarely looked like a coherent threat in a first half characterized by high pace but no real rhythm.

Credit for that definitely has to go to Kroniz’s tactics, which revolved around keeping the visitors out of their stride and putting pressure on the GFT defence, for whom Sulaiman was clocking overtime for several spells in the first half.

With both teams playing well going forward, however, it was never certain who would go on to score the game’s winning goal, although Hadi should have done better than to let his penalty effort low and weak towards GFT goalkeeper.

And with that, GFT managed to gatecrash Kroniz’s end of year game – but the foods flew all around the Gadong Foodzone as Kroniz celebrated the end of another long year campaign.

Kroniz Manager, A. Bab was a proud man following his team’s impressive performance against GFT describing the match between both teams as ‘fantastic’.

Admitting his team could have won outright he nonetheless saluted Kroniz for their "nada sadarkan diri" attitude.

“We almost had all the points, but I don’t want to talk too much about this game,” he said.

“We wanted to go into this game and do our best, and we definitely did it today. We had GFT on the ropes at times, especially in a superb first half for us.

“It was good football and fantastic for us as well!”

Kroniz Asst Manager, Pg Ariffin was satisfied with his players’ performance.

“I think the players who came in today gave a good account of themselves,” he noted.

“A draw is a fair result, and I think based on this performance, Kroniz will be a good side next year if all the players are kept intact and fit. If we keep everyone and with another year of experience, they’ll be a strong team next year although some of the players are already in negotiation with some of the best clubs in Europe such as Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Another concern is when Dubai World plan to take over the club but Kroniz management will fight the take over penny with penny".

Happy New Year 2010.

Kroniz pragmatic self rued several missed chances

Two goals in each half helped Bahrin Team (BT) grab a morale-boosting win over Kroniz at Belapan Stadium on Sunday evening accompanied with thunder and lighting in a match between the two different generation outfits. The BTs average just 25 years of age, while Kroniz are twenty years older on average.

It was more than pride and supremacy were at stake as these two sides battled it out to win the game.

After a vigorous first half which ended goalless, the BT emerged victors of the enthusiastically-fought contest courtesy of well-placed strikes by BT strikers.

With the result, Kroniz coach Pg Ariffin was less than satisfied in his post-match review, sharing concerns on what he saw as indiscipline in the attacking line and referee decisions.

“It was not a good result and not too happy with their performance,” said the former UBD Tennis player.

“They are not playing to their roles in attack, going everywhere except where they should be. They need to be brought down to earth, realise soccer is a team game, play as a team and not as individuals or stars.”

Bab was his usual pragmatic self as he rued the several missed chances.

“Bad result. We had chances, but did not make use of them.”

“We are not defending well, and we are not scoring. We were lacking attacking options up front due to injuries and holidays.”

Kroniz could take consolation, however, from the fact that the scoreline could have read differently to Kroniz, except that the referee had chalked off what appeared to be two clear goals, one in each half.

The rookie referee was barracked by Kroniz players for those calls, but the some other players themselves accepted those decisions, persevered and eventually came good when it came to taking subsequent opportunities, getting their due rewards at the later stages as their opponents were again found wanting at the other end.

Heartened by the opportunities they had, the Kroniz were growing in confidence as they began their push forward, driving BTs deep into their own half.

The match was threatening to boil over at various points, as indignant youth collided with authority and frustration steadily mounted among both sets of players.

But the BTs got their redemption on 30 minutes. Following a blocked free kick routine, BT player barged down the right, cleared his marker inside the Kroniz box and slotted the ball into the net, overcoming the tight angle between the post and the goalkeeper. 1-0 before the half-time.

Stung into action, Kroniz responded positively when, during an immediate counter, the ball bobbled near their opponent’s post, bouncing narrowly past the woodwork as it drifted out of play.

The BTs were ahead but by no means certain winners, at least no yet. Kronizs were still pressing and their penetrative forays into the BT goal area were giving them renewed confidence.

A free-kick taken by a kroniz player two minutes from the end proved dangerous as the ball came off the wall, rose high and then ascended near the right post, a player just barely failing to get his foot to the leather as the opportunity for a morale-boosting equaliser passed by.

In the second half, it was two-up to BTs when BT substitute ended the tie with a goal of some aplomb, an audacious curler from 25 yards out that sailed over Kroniz keeper, and into the back of the Kroniz net.

“If they start getting too big for their shoes and think they have arrived, maybe it is time for some changes.” commended one of Kroniz player disappointed with the lost.

Honours even at high-tempo UBD game

Kroniz FC and Guru-Guru Sekolah Rendah Tutong (GGSRT) served up a thrilling derby clash at UBD Field on Monday afternoon, both sides settling for a point in a 5-5 draw.

The result might not have done much in terms of advancing either team’s aspirations, but it was otherwise an excellent afternoon from both as they put their best faces forward and provided a good showcase.

Kroniz FC had the better of the first half, Aliuddin goal and Alinordi two goals against GGSRT two goals put them in what seemed a commanding position going 3-2 into the half-time interval.

But the GGSRT outfit, rallied strongly in the second period and earned their share of the spoils through further three goals against Kroniz two goals from Roslan.

Kroniz with almost full attandence had plenty of choice for the starting eleven and even afford to rest Kroniz playmaker Pg Ariffin.

Kronizs were tigerish presence early on, getting into tackles and doing their best to keep up with the high-energy opening both teams were engaging in.

Not for nothing were kroniz known for their explosive brand of pressing football, and they used that to their advantage to race to a goal lead inside 10 minutes.

A move involving Zainal and Alinordi powering just outside the penalty area, before he fell into a heap under a challenge from GGSRT defender.

The referee did not hesitate in giving a free kick just outside the penalty area, and Aliuddin coolly converted the free kick with a thunder bolt with 1o minutes shown on the clock surprising GGSRT keeper.

Six minutes later, kroniz were punished for some careless play as GGSRT striker sprang in to dispossess Kucang before storming more than 30 yards down the right flank and crossing the ball for an easy tap in leaving Julaihi stranded.

The second goal from GGSRT had no warning signs of any kind coming before it, yet that was exactly the kind of goal Kroniz had difficulty guarding against, and it was particularly fine reward for GGSRT winger, who was industriously running all over the left field managed to score an unlikely goal from 30 meters.

But kroniz were no push over, and they had their response on 23 minutes when Alinordi pulled a goal back to make it 2-2 after a scramble in front of GGSRT goal.

The third kroniz goal was straight and simple stuff from Alinordi, having stroked the ball low between keeper and the near post after a one-two with a teammate Roslan.

The first half ended with Kroniz FC leading 3-2.

The start of the second half to the surprised of Kroniz, GGSRT made it 3-3 with a driving low shot in between the legs of kroniz keeper Rosli.

However kroniz showed that, mentally and technically, they were a fine match for the side they were hosting.

Pg Yusof headed Arch’s cross a touch off target shortly afterwards as they continued pressing at the GGSRT defence, before Pg Suffian played a cool through pass to Gnoh, and cross to Roslan to fire his shot on target going into the lead again.

That goal marked the start of a new wave of attacks from the GGSRT, as they used their physical strength well to force Kroniz into mistakes they could exploit.

One such moment came went GGSRT striker got involved again, having picked up a ball that had gone from right to left before drawing two defenders with him on the periphery of the penalty area.

Sulaiman was helpless as he struggled to close down the GGSRT striker, who got into a tangle with three Kroniz players, and the striker profited as he rushed in to claim the loose ball and stroke it into the net with Rosli out of sight to make it 4-4.

Kroniz showed new life in the way they moved about now, and that was a delight to see as they kept up their pace, quick thinking and full-bodied commitment to push GGSRT.

Roslan could have had the game dead and buried with the fifth goal as he focused his shot off an excellent Arch cutback, a quick-witted Roslan immediately came in from the right flank to claim the ball, before blasting high into the roof of the net despite GGSRT keeper recovering to cover the angle.

But the prevailing thought at the time was that the Kroniz were almost home and dry against an GGSRT side showing signs of deflation. Almost’ was not good enough to kill the GGSRT’s spirits though, and they came up with the perfect response just two minutes from time ending the game with 5-5.

The fans – only one (Jamri) – was in fine voice too as he cheered their heroes on, letting his hearts pump hard to the beat of the game.

And the beat went faster and faster as both sides threatened to score the killer goal of the game however it never came.

That it did not happen might have been an imperfection in the eyes of the partisans, but for any neutral, it was an absolute treat both sides had served up.

So generous, so continuous and so back-and-forth was the flow of the game that, perhaps, it deserved a better stage than a friendly context where the winning-is-everything mentality becomes an excuse for playing drably.

There was certainly nothing drab about the game on this occasion, and the only fan were appreciative of that as he applauded the two teams upon hearing the final whistle.

During the post mortem at one of the Nasi Katok Restaurant in Rimba, Kroniz players made the following statements.

Kroniz goalkeeper Rosli believed that fans who had turned up for the clash with got their money’s worth of entertainment after both sides served up a 5-5 draw at UBD Field.

The match was an open affair for much of the time as both sides threw everything they had at each other, leading to what Shafie regarded as a positive development for Kroniz.

“It was end-to-end stuff, and both teams played so well, either team could have won the game,” said Alinordi after the match.

“It was good football, definitely. It was a good showcase of the good things in the friendly: both teams giving their best, going all out, and it’s a good result for football" added Hadi.

“Yes, between each of us (Julaihi and Rosli) we let in five goals, but sometimes there will be some goals that any goalkeeper cannot prevent. That happens in football" defended Rosli

“Maybe some of the goals that happened tonight can be prevented, and we should go back and take a look so that we can prepare for the upcoming game. But take nothing away from this game; it was good football.” Jamri said.

Kroniz Ast manager Pg Ariffin saluted Kroniz players for their part in the pulsating encounter, graciously acknowledging the quality they had shown while congratulating them for their excellent work.

“GGSRT were simply too good in the second half,” said Omar without hesitation.

“You couldn’t say that we let them back into the game, they really worked for it. But that’s good stuff from them; I’m not disappointed about not winning, because both teams worked hard for this game.” he added further.

Pg Suffian was more inclined to see the proverbial glass as half-empty, however, as he reflected on his team’s performance.

Revealing that the team had been working hard, he acknowledged there was work to be done to make the backline more impenetrable.

“We were playing to win, but we made it difficult for ourselves,” he said wryly.

“We showed in the first half that we can play, when we pushed forward and tried to find goals, so that is one good thing. But we need to think about our defending if we want to win games.” Shafie added.

“In the second half, we made too many mistakes and lost three goals, and we’re really disappointed with that. We were preparing for this game with a target not to let in any goals, so to lose five means we need to think about our preparations again" Alinordi said while eating nasi ayam penyet.

No panic as winless kroniz meet GGSRT

Kroniz FC will host Guru-Guru Sekolah Rendah Tutong (GGSRT) at the UBD Field on today. With so many games played and no victories to show for it, Kroniz FC is refusing to push the panic button because of the poor run of results.

Instead, Kroniz manager Bab are looking at things in perspective, and they predict that it will be a matter of time before the team start to win again.

Bab commented, “From a manager’s perspective, I guess it is a reasonable not to win in the last few games. We have a lot of old faces 'Nada sadarkan diri" in the team so it will definitely take a lot of time and miracle before the team starts to win again. The warm up futsal games last saturday at JKR didn't help as well as kroniz lost all their games to a much younger generation of players.

“The results might not be there but the same cannot be said about our team spirit and morale, which at the moment is very high. Although they are old and nda sadarkan diri however the hungry players are ready to prove themselves in the team. It was proven that the Roti Gincu Pg Ariffin brought to the game finished in a couple of minute during the futsal games.

“The last few games do not reflect much. A club might also win all their initial games but then lose so many games after that. In my opinion, it is better to assess a club when they have achieved in 15 years of Kroniz FC existence,” Pg Suffian added.

Even though Kroniz are in the doldrums, Bab admitted that the GGSRT are no pushovers and they have beaten kroniz before.

Pg Ariffin Kroniz Asst Manager added, “My opinion is that when we play well, the results will come naturally. Hopefully, we can play well and achieve the results today".

In the previous match, the kroniz were comprehensively defeated by Young veterans with a scoreline of 3-1.

Jamri reflected, “We played our game but we did not take our chances. We conceded the first two goals and the third goal was a result of our defensive mistake.

“But we had good moments in the first half and in the beginning of the second half". Nizam is worried about our performance in the opponents’ penalty box.

"I am very satisfied with the team’s build-up play, physical fitness, passing and the desire to win. But the reality is that if you can’t score more than your opponents, you can’t win the game,” Nizam said.

On a positive note, Kroniz have no major injuries or suspensions to worry about however players attendance to the games is dwelling due to the holiday season.

Not so veterans put three past kroniz

Kroniz’s hope of getting their season back on track was dealt a blow, when they went down 3-1 to Young Veterans. Kroniz loss means that they are still without victory in the last few games.

Kroniz started out the brighter of the two teams, as Alinordi took on the Young veteran defense straight from the kick off. His darting run ending with a weak shot that was easily saved the goalkeeper.

Young Veterans refused to sit back and allow the Kroniz to dictate the pace of the game. A flurry of chances could have seen them taking the lead early on. However some brilliant defending by kroniz kept the young veterans at bay.

Aliuddin was the first on the end of Azreen’s cross on the 8th minute. However, his attempt was just wide of Young Veterans’s post.

Two minutes later, Pg Suffian came close to breaking the deadlock. His left footed attempt was parried away by the goalkeeper only to the feet of Hadi, who shot it straight back at the keeper.

Azreen was once again the provider on the 10th minute. This time for Sulaiman, who headed straight at the keeper.

Young veterans had no reply for kroniz’s attack and were nearly punished on the 20th minute. Pg Ariffin’s header into the penalty area found an unmarked Aliuddin, who could only put his attempt wide.

Kroniz’s inability to take their chances would prove costly five minutes later. A seemingly routine clearance by the Kroniz defence turned into a catastrophic disaster that gifted the Young veterans with the lead before half time.

Kroniz started the second half the same way they had ended it. Aliuddin’s quick free kick seemed to have caught the entire Young Veterans defence by surprise. The goalkeeper though, was alert and saved it.

Alinordi had another opportunity to equalise. A neat one, two between him and fellow striker Pg Suffian opened up the Young veterans defence only for Alinordi to put his shot over the bar.

Five minutes later, Zainal managed to hit the target. He calmly slotted home Alinordi’s cross to put his team back into the game. Young veteran’s back pass to the keeper was too short, and before the goalkeeper could react, Zainal had intercepted the ball to put his side level 1-1.

Chances came few and far between for Young veterans and it was all kroniz, until a winger run on the 45th minute. A nicely worked set play by the Young veterans saw their striker reacting quickest and headed the ball in goal to put their side back into the lead again.

As Kroniz surged forward in search of a winner, Young veterans took the opportunity to seal the victory.

Young veterans striker was instrumental in his side’s attack once again as he threaded the ball through to No 9. With only the goal keeper to beat, made no mistake and put Young veterans 3-1 up.

Kroniz had one last chance to get on the scoreboard just before full time. This time it was Pg Nizam’s turn, and he too could only shoot wide.

In the dying minutes of the game, Aliuddin came closest to pulling one back for kroniz but his free kick was kept out by the wall.

Kroniz were the more dominant side, but Young Veterans’s ability to turn chances into goals proved to be the key in this game as they ran out comfortable winners.

However all end well for kroniz as they celebrated the defeat with a big feast of Nasi Padang at Sengkurong for the post-mortem.

Kroniz FC cautious of unknown Young Veterans FC

It will be an interesting affair for Friday Afternoon Football as Kroniz FC host Young Veterans at MD Soccer Pitch.

Should Kroniz win against the Young Veterans this Friday, they will reclaim the feel good factors, or better still, built up the confidence to end the season with victory.

Young Veterans unknown quality led to Kroniz being cautious for their first ever encounter.

A kroniz's informer said, “They are a very good attacking side. They have three very good players who can actually cause a lot of problems up front". "We will have to really mark them closely,” he remarked.

Nevertheless, Kroniz is still very confident that they can get the result which they need to end the season with victory after a dismissal performance in the last few games.

Bab kroniz manager said, “At the end of the day, we will just concentrate on our own performance and we should not care too much about the other club. This is because if we do so, we will naturally perform well.

“I might revert back to the usual 4-4-2 tactics because our players usually play well when we use this formation,” Bab added a hint of what we could expect from his side ahead of Friday’s clash.

The Kroniz’ 4-4-2 formation has been their trademark for the past few games and Young veterans have got to be wary once the Kroniz wingers start raiding down the flanks.

However, they shouldn’t be too adventurous because of the Young Veterans’ ability to launch dangerous counter-attacks.

After last week draw, Kroniz needs to sharpen their finishing and kill off the game as soon as possible in order to win the game. This is definitely the one area which kroniz needs to address ahead of this Friday’s fixture.

Kroniz-RBAirF tussle ends all square

Asri pulled out a top-drawer performance to give Kroniz a share of the spoils in their Friday afternoon clash with the RBAirF Squadron One at SM PAP Masna Soccer Field, as the two teams settled for a 1-1 draw.

The result ended the Kroniz’ dismal run against the army side, who had beaten them in the last game 0-5 but found Kroniz harder to overcome this time around.

RBAirF striker gave the lead in the second half with a strike two minutes after the break, before Kroniz equalized in the dying seconds through Asri to capture a point.

The match kicked off in a slow, almost casual fashion, as both teams steadily settled into the tempo of the game. A pass from Azreen along the left flank then saw the latter running down the wing before crossing the ball to Asri, who missed the connection before goalkeeper RBAirF came out quickly to collect for safety.

A freekick was awarded to Kroniz taken by Zainal at the 15 minute which was headed on target, however just missed a few inches off target.

At the other end of the field, it was RBAirF who came close to scoring when their striker received at the edge of the box and tried to put the ball towards goal, but it was deflected for a corner instead.

Both sides put on an encouraging show of positive, passing football, but it was not until the latter part of the first half that the action was gradually brought up to a simmer.

Gnoh popped up at the other end in the 25th minute, and he managed to meet Asri corner with a powerful header that on most days might have led to a goal.

At the other end, Pg Zulkarnean responded by brilliantly tipping the effort over the bar to prevent the RBAirF from taking the lead.

It was to be the first of his Man-of-the-Match-winning saves, and his teammates did not disappoint his effort as two minutes later, Aliuddin beat the offside flag to reach Kucang’s cross from the other flank.

Trying to shoot from a tight angle, Aliuddin was unlucky to hit a RBAirF defender, and the ball was subsequently cleared for a corner.

The game continued with both sides attempting to break the deadlock. Pg Suffian passed the ball backwards to Alinordi, who curled it to Zainal and shoot fly high over the crossbar.

A miscued clearance by Jamri then gave RBAirF the opportunity to sneak in a shot, but Pg zulkarnean was up to the task again as he comfortably pushed and collected the ball.

RBAirF kicked off the second period with their characteristic short and crisp passes, and they managed to score two minutes after the restart.

Up stepped RBAirF defender to float the ball to a RBAirF striker, who pressured Shafie a kroniz defender into making a mistake and easily converted from close range leaving Kroniz keeper stranded in no man land.

Gnoh cut back to Pg Asmalee inside the penalty box, having snatched a poor clearance by RBAirF defender and tried to make amends by chasing after Pg Ariffin, only for the latter to fall.

It seemed like a plausible penalty situation; however, the referee wave it off for simulation to the disbelieve of Pg Ariffin. The furious and unhappy Pg Ariffin complained to the referee that according to FIFA rule it was a penalty, however the referee dismiss it because he didn't bring the rule book and Brunei has been de-registered as a member of FIFA.

Gnoh cut past two defenders to get in front of the net in the 42nd minute, but with only RBAirF keeper to beat, he shot directly at the latter.

RBAirF almost double the lead, but the long-range attempt was way off target.

Pg Asmalee was next to try from a tight angle on the right, and saw his effort go just past the crossbar.

RBAirF striker blasted from out of the box six minutes from time, which Kroniz number three custodian Pg Zulkarnean duly pushed away.

There was no such mistake at the other end, following a cross at the right edge of the box, Asri nicely controlled the ball and tapped it in with the slightest effort to the surprise of RBAirF goalkeeper in the dying seconds.

Despite the heroic last minute equalizer, Kroniz assistant team manager Pg Ariffin believed his team should have fared better.

“We did not play well enough. We could have kept the ball better,” he said of his team’s performance on the day.

“Kroniz pressed very well, they had more possession and clear chances. They have started to gel now after the last defeat. It was a good tactical game today.

“We were not happy with the lost in the last game. We thought we could get a win today but we knew it was going to be difficult.”

Jamri, a kroniz defender too did not seem happy to earn only a point from the game.

“We prepared an attacking side but it did not really work out as much as we had prepared,” he revealed after complaining about the restaurant where the post-mortem was held.

“The whole game was not that good. We had time to prepare after the last game, but it did not really work out to what we planned today.

“If we had won today it would be a morale boost for the players as they can move forward and do better from now on, but since we just drew maybe we have to work harder” added Pg Suffian who ordered Nasi Bryani Kambing during the post mortem.

Kroniz Ready To do Battle Again

Preparations are almost complete for Kroniz and RBAirF as they get set to do battle again on Friday day afternoon at SM PAP Masna soccer field .

But if there is any tension in the air, the teams have done well not to show it ahead of the affair, which will decide who is more superior.

Speaking to the blogger at one of the lepak session after the previous defeat, Jamri, a kroniz defender revealed the meticulous preparations his team have been going through in since they they lost 0-5 previously.

“After the defeat, we went back and took a look at pictures of the Kroniz and RBAirF players, we studied the style of RBAirF’s play, and we have been planning on how to play with RBAirF in the next game" he said.

Even though I was not here to see Kroniz’s last game, I was told RBAirF played very well" said Kroniz Manager Bab

But compared to the scorelines, Kroniz manager was more concerned about the players’ performances in the previous affairs, while simultaneously finding himself in a race against time to get all his aces fit for the final.

But highest on his priorities was an urgent need to address the kroniz’ defensive vulnerabilities, which were exposed in their recent match.

“Defensively, I don’t think we were too happy,” noted Pg Zulkarnaen a kroniz's player.

“Against RBAirF, we failed to communicate, which is very important. Individually, in one-versus-one situations, we’ve got to do much better too when we play in the next game.

“The RBairF have a few fast players, including their No.9. So our defensive line has to be prepared to bounce whenever their midfield has the ball.”

With few players still missing due to school's holidays, Bab's has a limited squad to choose from, giving him few options further widened by the players’ remarkable unversatility.

“However, we don’t feel any worry at all, because we have many players from the attacking side who can score goals. We’ll just play our game, with each player given his duty for the game.

“There is a lot of rotation and replacement in our team, and I believe no player should be happy to just play in one spot. They have to move around and play in many positions.

“The good thing is that the players in this team are good at this. So that will be an advantage for us when we face RBAirF.”

Compared to the RBAirF’ more free-flowing approach, Kroniz play a more staccato style of football, relying significantly on fast breaks.

It is an approach that has served them well previously, a run that Pg Aripin stressed was not just down to dumb luck.

He quickly added, however, that luck can play an important part in one-off affairs, with any game.

But far from subscribing to the belief in luck simply dropping down from the sky, he was more inclined to see luck being a function of effort – something he and his charges have shown in substantial quantities ahead of the game.

“We know that RBirF’s style is more defensive,” he remarked.

“They will try to make it hard for us to beat their defence. So we will need a bit of luck.

“Whether it’s us or them, everybody needs luck in football. Football has a few percent of luck in it, and if the chance comes your way, anything can happen.

“But it’s not all about luck; the planning, the players, everything has to be there. We have done everything we can to plan for the game, now it’s about who can give 100% to earn the luck.” said the Asst Manager after eating a plate of Nasi Ayam Penyet.

RBAirF Destroy Kroniz with Precision Bombing

Kroniz Fc fell to one of their heaviest loss ever in their freindlies today, when they were beaten 0-5 by the Air Force Boys (RBAirF 1st Squadron) at Maktab Duli Soccer Field.

The result sent shock wave in the kroniz camp as they left the field licking their wounds following the defeat.

It was the first time they had lost by such a margin since as far as can be remembered in the series of friendlies, only with DPMM FC had swept them aside with a bigger margins en route to winning the Singapore Cup competition.

Kroniz were handicapped by the absence of a few influential players, some had to pull out of the playing squad with injuries and holidays, but they still boasted plenty of quality and experience in their starting eleven for this match.

But that meant nothing against a highly-motivated RBAirF side, who asserted their authority with some fair but firm play that made it hard for Kroniz to settle down.

RBAirF fired early warnings of their intent and opened the scoring for the on 19 minutes.

RBAirF winger played a diagonal ball from the left, and the flight of the delivery was perfect for their midfielder, who rushed in to beat Kroniz keeper Julaihi with a far-post screamer.

RBAirF followed up with a second goal just two minutes later, and this time it was the another forward who provided the assist.

Latching on a clever through pass from the edge of the penalty area, RBAirF striker pressed hard on kroniz defender Sulaiman before firing a left-footer beyond Julaihi to extend the advantage.

RBAirF were in full swing now, and managed to score another on the 27 minutes when RBAirF midfielder headed his lob pass to the top corner.

The Kroniz did have a chance on goal just before half-time, but a two-fisted save from RBAirF keeper deny Kroniz scoring, meant that a strong second-half performance was the only way they could overturn the three-goal deficit.

The last thing they needed was a forth strike from RBAirF that promptly arrived seven minutes into the second period.

Kroniz last man Sulaiman slipped under pressure on the surface slickened by previous rain, and RBAirF promptly made the most of it with an easy finish past an exposed Julaihi.

Kroniz’s No.1 custodian salvaged a bit of his reputation on 43 minutes when he pulled off a save to deny RBAirF striker.

But RBAirF keep up the pressure and in the corner sequence that followed, cheekily chipped the ball to the right to make it 5-0 with Julaihi stranded.

Kroniz almost made amends five minutes later with a fierce shot from the edge of the penalty area that went agonizingly wide, but on the whole, Kroniz rarely managed to trouble RBAirF.

Instead it could have been 6-0 if not for some heroic defending from Sulaiman, who twice denied RBAirF on the line five minutes from time.

Kroniz's assistance manager Pg Ariffin admitted after the match that his team was outplayed today.

“We just couldn’t settle into the normal rhythm of our game,” he told the blogger.

“They took the initiative from the start, pressed us aggressively and played a high-tempo game. There were moments when we tried to keep the ball in the defending and middle thirds, but once we got to the attacking third, they were fast and strong in their tackles.

“The other thing was that we conceded goals at crucial times in the game as well. The first two goals came very close together and it was almost like a knockout blow; we tried to come back in the second half, but the forth goal gave us a real mountain to climb.”

The 38-year-old pointed out, however, that his charges had made efforts to get back into the game, but were sucker-punched into the emphatic defeat.

“To the credit of the team, it was easy for them to put their heads down when they went three goals down,” he said.

“But they wanted to come back, and they tried to come back. My disappointment with the match is not that the players didn’t try, but that we conceded goals at crucial times, and we just didn’t have an answer to that once they smelt the blood.”

Kroniz had come into this match at Maktab Duli on a high following a good run in their friendlies, where they had managed good results recently despite missing most of their regular starters.

While fatigue was thus not an issue for players like Pg Asmali, Roslan and Awang, the flip side was their lack of match practice leading up to this crucial clash.

But Pg Ariffin refuted the suggestion that the team could have suffered from the loss due to the decision to play so many friendlies in one season more than the premier league.

“I wouldn’t think that players would lose their stamina, because age does not matter in soccer and with the attitude of 'Nada Sadarkan Diri' kroniz can beat any team,” said former national UBD tennis player.

“I think the one thing that could have played on the players’ minds – and even then I doubt it – was the fact that tomorrow is Hari Raya Aidil Adha and most of the players are already on raya moods."

The pressure to deliver is significant at a club whose last taste of success was beating Wasabi FC, and despite his placid exterior and without Kroniz manager Bab, Pg Ariffin Kroniz Assistance manager stressed that he remained focused on that task as he challenged the players to bounce back on the the next game.

“Anger is there in everyone, and I have been an angry man at times before,” he remarked.

“But it has been my philosophy that you always have to look at what to do next, how to resolve a situation to make it better. And we have a situation, because we had a very outstanding start to the season this year, and lately has not been as good.

“We’ve got the players; I was overflowing with excitement during the many friendlies, when I was speaking about the squad we have. A defeat like this will not change that view so drastically, but the challenge is to see how the boys respond for the rest of the season.”

Final Score Kroniz FC 0 RBAirF 1st squadron 5.

Kroniz FC ready to fight Air force One Squadron

Kroniz Fc takes on 1st Squadron Air force in the crucial friendly match at the Maktab Duli Soccer today Friday, 27 Nov.

After last game’s 1-1 draw to the Kronizian at the same pitch, the upcoming game has added significance as the Kronizians try to keep alive their hopes of avoiding another defeat.

The Kronizians seemed to have overcome that shock draw on the last game and are intent on proving the naysayer’s wrong.

A few players is out due injuries but other players looks ready to step into the lime light.

It was an uphill task this season for kronizians struggled to get back their form and fitness as they only managed to find the net less this season than last season.

But it would be foolish to write them off as their performance against the HMFT showed their quality. The second half performance gave the Kronizian purpose and penetration to unsettled the HMFT defense however their finishing let them down.

If Kroniz is to take all three points from today’s game, they need to keep up their penchant for silencing the other team as they did in the previous game. The same sort of fighting spirit that has marked the Kronizian under the stewardship of Bab is needed as the kronizian look to make another milestone.

Kroniz so near yet so far...

K6 and K9 before the game
Players clean and smart before facing the wet sloggy football pitch

22nd Nov Gadong: Today Kroniz FC nearly won the the game against Hj Midon Family Team (HMFT)in a fast pace and hard tackling game at the wet and soggy Maktab Duli PSBS Soccer Field. However the game ended 1-1 with a very late penalty given to HMFT.

After a scoreless first half Kroniz increase the tempo of the game in the second half and manage to take the lead in the 10th minute in the second half score by Alinordi. A nice through pass by ex manager zainal had sent Sapai through to face the HMFT keeper in the tenth minute in the second half, but the striker shot was block by the indecisive HMFT keeper and the ball roll nicely to Alinordi who slot it home easily. After taking the lead, Kroniz were leading all the way until a surprise HMFT equalizer one minute from time through a penalty.

Ironically, Kroniz could easily finish off the game however it was last year top scorer Pg Aki who did not convert the a least five open attempts at goal.

After it had finished 1-1 at the end of 60 minutes no extra time was to be played, so it was already azan magrib time.

Kroniz were suffering from nerves from the start, it seemed, as the HMFT controlled the game from the opening whistle. However through perseverance Kroniz deservedly took the lead through Alinordi, whose strike from Sapai from an acute angle on the right of the area proved too powerful for HMFT keeper.

The ball had been won initially 35 yards out from goal in the middle of the pitch by Pg Aki, who sent away down the right.

Kroniz had relied on fast breaks in the first half to try and gain some toe-hold on the game.

Pg suffian was a lively presence in the first half, so it was a surprise when he came off at half-time, making way for Pg Ariffin.

Arch got in a good cross in the 37th, which was missed by Alinordi in the middle yet still gave Pg Aki a chance to make contact at the far post, which he did, only for HMFT keeper to block the shot with a desperate lunge.

“We felt the pressure in the first half,” explained Kroniz manager when it was all over. “We were unable to reproduce our usual form and since we lost the last game we were a bit too careful.”

It seems that the pressure came from the players themselves rather than the opposition and the occasion got to them.

Kroniz had chances to go further ahead in the second half, but could not take them.

In the 48th minute Pg Aki picked up a good pass from Alinordi, but then put his effort just over the angle of the left upright and crossbar as HMFT breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Arch was denied by the legs of the HMFT keeper in the 50th. HMFT came back, after that, to threaten once more.

HMFT striker cleverly curled a left-footer that swerved, first away from goal and then back towards it, as the ball cannoned off the left post and then away to safety to the delight of reliable Kroniz keeper Pg Zulkarnean.

HMFT push forword dangerously and a volleyed powerfully just wide from well inside the box in the 59th as HMFT looked for a way back into the game.

Kroniz looked set to win by the only goal of the game until a late cross, needlessly given away without midfield cover out wide on the left with only a minute to go, was curled towards goal well received by two HMFT strikers. In the chaos in the penalty box, Kroniz hard working last man Pg Nizam made a desperate tackle and made an unlikely contact with HMFT striker who fell to the ground.

HMFT striker gladly accepted the penalty and it wound up in the roof of the net.

HMFT coach was all smiles when it was over. “We had a game plan and we executed it exactly as I wanted,” he said.

Having gained a reputation for conceding a lot of late goals in their previous matches, kroniz proved far more disciplined and better organised in this match to frustrate HMFT.

Kroniz did look a little tired towards the end so they were spared, very willingly, to settle the with the outcome, given their apparent fatigue.

One worthwhile thing about the game was the genuine sportsmanship displayed by both sides, with referee issuing only one caution all match.

“Next game, we’d like to do even better,” promised one of Kroniz player.

Sekian

Inilah ekspresi wajah k18yg keletihan setelah berhempas pulas bermain sepenuh masa sehinggakan beliau hampir mengalami kekajangan otot. However Bravo! he deserved to have Nasi kari ayam + Limau kapas jus and ABC after game.

Congrats!! jua kpd kronizian yg bermain ptg atu kerana menunjukan semangat juang yang tinggi dan sejati.
P/s: kalau kepisan tanggung sendiri!!. K18, Ada ku ngambar kau kan ptg atu ?..

KRONIZ Vs WASABI
2 - 0

Sekian

Kroniz berduyun-duyun menghadiri perlawanan.

Attaccck!!!...

K14 terkidum puas setelah menjaringkan goal kedua yg cantik sehingga beliau lupa memakai baju.

KroniZ Lwn JPK

Sabtu - 7hb November 2009

Keputusan akhir KroniZ FC 2- 1 JPK

Bermula dari Golie - K30 to K13 to Asri dan tandukan gol cantik K12. Hasilnya SOAS berjaya menyamakan kedudukan.

He..he...

Kronizfc 2 SOAS 1.

Tahniah. Keep up our good performance.

Wasted chances

Keputusan akhir perlawanan seri, Kroniz 2 - 2 Veteren Persaka.

IRK as a core subject

Reasons why some didnt agree with IRk as a core subject.

Alasan2 yg ah brudirect:
1. nda boleh paksa
2. Nada dalam constitution IRK mesti diajar tuk somua
3. only 60% percent Bruneian are muslim.
4. Nada kana soal dalam interview keraja.

hmmmmm

let see 1. Islam nda memaksa org masuk islam which is true but this is IRK : islamic religous Knowledge . Pengetahuan Ugama Islam mengajar org cara kehidupan org Islam. It does not force one convert to Islam kalau nda, ada tia topic nya "Masuk Islam mesti". Orang yg bukan Islam at least know pasal Islam and respect the way of Islam *bukan nya makan didapan org Islam yg kan sungkai * (reality). So no 1 rubbish.

No 2. Memang nada dalam constitution sal IRK tapi ada dalam constitution "Ugama rasmi Brunei is Islam", so as Bruneian we should know apa dia Islam bukan nama ugama saja. "Oh Islam are extremist hmmm i dont think so contradicting with what i had learn in school during IRK lesson". So No2 pun pathetically rubbish.

No3. 60% saja really ? antam saja org ani . bloody ignorant rubbish

No4. Memang lah nda kana soal IRk dalam cari keraja tapi the essence of IRK. Dalam IRK , we learnt about sabar, adab, etc.. which can be used dalam interview. apa lah..luan main apal saja nah ia tah tu nda tahu pratikalitinya ...So no 4. is a absolutely idiotic nonsence no brain reason.

Ada kah baik nya as a non muslim can membetul kan fahaman non muslim yg lain yg misleading and bias.

p/s: actual reason: oh how my son /daughter can get Bruneian scholarship if fail IRK ?

Masa depan bolasepak negara cerah

Gambar-gambar semasa perlawanan:

Keputusan akhir perlawanan kroniz 4 - 2 Mindef pejabat SUT. Sekian Karamsinghwalia TV3 melaporkan bagaikan "harapkan pagar pagar makan padi". Apakan........

Generation Next couldn't cope with Past Generation

Sekian.

Hujan lebat iringi kehampaan kroniz

Keputusan akhir kroniz 1 - Kg Tungku 2.

Football Federation Brunei Darussalam gugurkan Kroniz FC

Bahagian Pakar Hospital RIPAS siap siaga menentang kroniz
